More About Me...

Hey! I'm Taylor and I just finished my freshman year at IU. I actually transferred to IU at semester this year; I started college at Hillsdale College, a small town school in Michigan just over the border of Indiana. I am, as probably many of you are, an elementary education major, and I absolutely love teaching so far! I have two younger siblings, Allison, who's finishing up her Sophomore year in high school, and Michael, who's finishing up his sixth grade year. If I could do anything with my life without worrying about making money, I would be on Broadway. That sounds entirely too cliche, but it's so true! I love singing and dancing, and to be able to live my life playing characters like those in Wicked, Hairspray, and Avenue Q would simply be a dream. I love all of my friends, especially my sister, who happens to be my best friend. We love spending time together, and often will just spend a day playing Mario Kart Wii, watching movies, taking ridiculous pictures, and dancing to loud music in our rooms.

Creating this blog was surprisingly easy! I have never ventured to create one before; I have a Facebook like virutally everyone else, but I have never been interested in blogging. I will admit that I don't really know what I'm doing, but I can't wait to get started. :) I really like that we can post pictures because I have plenty of them, trust me. I'm really excited to see everyone else's blogs and get to continue to write mine!

  1. Taylor- many, many years ago there was a TV show called "Sisters" and I'll never forget this quote: "Friends and lovers will come and go, but your sisters will always be there for you." It is so cool that you have that friendship with your sister. I'm very thankful my daughters are best friends too. Did your sister have a hard time when you went away to college?

I hope you never stop singing and dancing. There's just something about a song and dance that makes the day just a little happier. I will probably have Deborah Kerr singing "I Could Have Danced All Night" from The King and I, stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Thanks, lol!

  3. I have no idea how to get the slideshow to work either. I tried, but I suck at using technology. So I am with you on if anyone knows how to do please let me know lol. What grade do you want to teach when you are finished with school. I am leaning towards kindergarten or first. I work for a before and after school program and I love the kids in those grades. They are too young to have an attitude and they are generally nice lol

  4. Taylor I'm like you I can't figure out how to get a slide show but I do know it's possible. If I figure it out I will let you know. I liked your "What? A post that's not an assignment?" The story in it made me giggle and was a heads up to never go to that store..lol..I look forward to reading more work from you even if it is just random posts!

  5. We could talk about movies all day lol. I wouldn't mind. I'm one of those guys that remembers just about everyting from every movie.

Truth be told, the old heavy metal is infinitely better than the new heavy metal. Old being anything before 1990.

I never really got into musicals. The only one I can stand to watch without being forced is Grease. I had to pretend to like Hairspray once with an exgirlfriend. After that day I decided it was probably better to just be honest all the time lol. I did make an agreement with my mom once that I would watch Westside Story with her, if she watched Freddy VS Jason with me. Honestly, I lost twice. :(

  6. Thanks Taylor. I think that being able to sing and dance are bonuses for any teacher!
You've done a nice job with the blog. I expect that your classmates will be asking you how to do things!

  7. Hey there Taylor! It great to see another Hoosier in my summer class. IU was great last year and I'm excited to head back after this summer, but like you said, next semester will be a little tougher. I already took the dreaded T-101. When you look at it, it's simple math, but it's a lot to keep up with. It's likely we might end up in a class together. Other than that, great job with the blog and the pictures with captions on the side. Good luck with the job!

  8. Taylor, how do you like IU?! IU was in my top 3 places I wanted to go to school but IUPUI won. lol My brother is also just finishing up his sophomore year in high school. Thats so cool that you love acting! I wish I was able to do all of that, but unfortunately I was not gifted in that area considering I completely freeze once I'm up on stage lol So I think thats incredible!
